25 years of catering excellence

eatpure founders Pam & Ian White first fell in love with food hospitality over 25 years ago by setting up their first retail food business - which included a novel home delivery service (long before the birth of online shopping!)

The 90’s saw our development into ala carte dining, by opening a restaurant within the world-famous Cowes Sailing Club on the Isle of Wight. This is also where General Manager, Peter Farquhar first joined us.

A food import and distribution business followed to launch a premium cake and biscuit brand into department stores and world leading brands such as Harvey Nichols, Fortnum & Mason and Selfridges.

This experience opened up many vital and long-standing relationships with suppliers and food professionals across the globe and allowed us to explore catering experiences and influences as wide ranging as food service in Australia and New Zealand, to supplying specialist catering to a “life skills” cafe and craft shop, which helps adults with learning difficulties to work in the community and develop more social interaction and communication.

The journey was crucial

The business has achieved many milestones over the past quarter of a century and has benefitted from many wonderful associations with customers, suppliers, staff and key individuals who have helped us on our journey as we have developed and grown. Thank you to you all.

The lessons learned and the experiences gained on our journey to where we are now, have moulded what it is that eatpure is and the things that we continually challenge ourselves to deliver.

Today eatpure ltd. delivers tasty food and beverages for events and businesses across Hertfordshire and the surrounding area. We work with quality suppliers, to source the finest ingredients (many of them from local growers and producers) to use in our  custom-fitted kitchens, where our wonderful team work to produce their yum, yum magic!

Food hygiene is our number one priority

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) food hygiene scheme helps consumers choose where to eat out or shop for food, by giving you information about the hygiene standards in restaurants, pubs, cafes, takeaways, hotels, and other places you eat or purchase food from. Supermarkets and other food shops are also included in the scheme.

The scheme is run by local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland in partnership with the Food Standards Agency.

Each business is given a ‘hygiene rating’ when it is inspected by a food safety officer from the business’s local authority. The hygiene rating shows how closely the business is meeting the requirements of food hygiene law.

The food safety officer inspecting a business checks how well the business is meeting the law by looking at:

• how hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored
• the condition of the structure of the buildings – the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities
• how the business manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe

At the end of the inspection, the business is given one of the six ratings. The top rating of ‘5’ means that the business was found to have ‘very good’ hygiene standards. Any business should be able to reach this top rating.
