Ten weeks not to be forgotten

As we make our first tentative steps back towards the 'New Normal', it feels important to not let the last 10 weeks simply be a void - and hence I want to record what we have been up to at Eatlunch.

Firstly we have produced and delivered over 1,100 sandwiches to NHS staff at The Lister and The New QEII hospitals, along with additional treats such as Easter eggs (that seems a long time ago now!) and crisps along the way.

We were also delighted to be able to donate Eater eggs to the foodbank run by the New Zion Christian Fellowship on Cole Green Lane in Welwyn Garden City.

We have also produced over 200 portions of soup which have gone to both NHS staff as well as those in the community who we were able to support with food packages.

Away from the food we have also used the time to spruce up parts of our building which normally we don't have a long enough break to do - so floors have been painted, new shelving installed - all ready to get back to work!

Finally we were also able to help out another local business, Ye Olde Fighting Cocks in St Albans, who we lent one of our refrigerated vans to for April & May to assist them with their deliveries of food around the area.

So all in all it has been a busy few weeks - just not in the way we would have wanted.

But now we are ready to get back to what we do best - providing fresh coffee and tasty food at our cafes and providing catering for businesses throughout Herts.
